JAMI – Variety of Collectathons

Jami was set up in 1989 by parents, relatives and friends of people who suffered from mental health problems.

For those affected by mental health issues such as bipolar affective disorder, schizophrenia, depression and eating disorders, life can be extremely difficult. Often there is a breakdown of the home and family life, jobs are lost and the situation can spiral out of control.

Jami’s focus is on recovery; it is a major milestone for some to simply get out of bed in the morning and get dressed to go to one of Jami’s day centres. For others, moving to voluntary work or even paid employment may, for the first time, be an achievable goal. Jami is committed to helping members fulfil their individual potential.

Our warehouse forms part of our social enterprise and employment projects, enabling people with mental illness to spend time learning new work and social skills on and offline within our supportive work environment.  Your donations not only support our vital work financially but create a meaningful activity for our service users.
