How to run a Mitzvah Day Active Project
Mitzvah Day Active is an opportunity for young adults to get involved in hands-on social action, while catching up with old friends and making new ones.
We’re looking for team leaders to bring together a group of friends to get active and take part. We’ll then help you organise everything you need for a really worthwhile project.
Before Mitzvah Day
Find a project
We have a range of great projects available. Have a look at Project Types to see what may interest you. There is everything from environmental work such as planting trees and gardening, to people-focused activities such as visiting an elderly care home or a refuge for vulnerable people, to something active such as a room makeover or collecting food outside a supermarket. The Available Projects page on the website will have more ideas.
On Mitzvah Day
Make sure you inform all volunteers about time, location and what they will be doing during the day. Tell them they need to bring confortable clothes and gloves if your project takes place outside (gardening). Know how many volunteers will be present and their phone number. Bring with you the name and contact number of the person from the charity/organisation you are visiting.
Most importantly – enjoy the day! And send us some photos!
The Mitzvah Day team are available to guide and help you put together a fantastic Mitzvah Day project for your group, so please do get in touch.
