Join Gratitude and create a garden for the hardworking staff at Barnet Hospital
Gratitude aims to relieve food poverty and reduce food waste in Borehamwood and surrounding areas. We rescue good quality surplus food and non food items from various supermarkets and shops that would otherwise end up in landfill and redistribute it to the community.
We were informed that the hardworking staff at Barnet Hospital have no garden to rest in and have a break!
In fact, there is a neglected outdoor area outside their canteen that can be made into a great garden.
Our plan is to work on it gradually and have it complete for Mitzvah Day, Sunday of November 17.
We are hoping to be joined by volunteers from the hospital staff, from our local community and Gratitude’s volunteers too.
Please contact us to join our volunteers and to help turn this area into a place that the staff can enjoy.

We also run regular outreach programmes around Hertfordshire. We have a free lunch called Community Cooking and Sharing on Wednesdays at St Teresa’s Church in Borhamwood, an after school CommuniTEA every Thursdays at Bushey Hartspring Community Centre, Free Fruit Tuesdays to over 15 schools in Hertfordshire, a knitting club that makes hats and sweaters for premature babies at a local hospital plus other outreach activities.
Gratitude has been awarded the 2019 Hertsmere Civic Award for the services undertaken for the benefit of the residents of the borough.
